Welcome to Intensive Care Massage, by nurse Katie. My goal is to ensure that you are comfortable and that you have a positive and amazing experience. I will have you fill out an intake form, which includes a health questionnaire. Please undress to your comfort level. All clients will remain draped besides the specific area being massaged. Please refrain from heavy alcohol prior to the session to help ensure you get the most out of your treatment. Stay hydrated and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. What should I expect from my first session?
First off, let's take a moment to acknowledge and thank ourselves for honoring the physical body. The great gift about massage is that it is so much more than just a physical session. Many find a sense of peace, relaxation, and overall calm after a session. At times, depending on pressure, a client can experience some soreness or tenderness from a massage session. Remember to drink plenty of water to flush and perfuse all the vital organs. Please reach out to me if you have any further questions or concerns. At no time is massage intended to diagnose or cure a medical condition, if you have any concerns also reach out to your doctor.
Do you help treat terminal or chronic illness?
In today's society many people experience chronic stress, anxiety, fatigue and pain. The contributing factors are endless, and many people are starting to shed attention towards their mental, emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing. Incorporating massage into your wellness routine can help alleviate and/or lessen the negative effects of an overworked and exhausted body. Working in the ICU helped me understand the importance of taking care of yourself now in the present moment because just like a well-oiled machine, eventually our bodies will not keep running on empty. Make the decision to put yourself first today, which can lead to a healthier and happier you for everyday in the future. You are important. Put yourself first.
